We produce socially-conscious feature films, shorts & creative content for artists and organisations.

Idle Work Factory is committed to bringing personal stories to screen. Influenced by our working-class backgrounds; we are motivated by authenticity & breaking down barriers related to class, accesibillity & opportunity.
THE TEAM
Established in 2019, Idle Work Factory is co-owned by Writer / Director, Jordon Scott Kennedy
and Creative Producer, Casey Shaw.
PROJECTS
Outside of our Film Work, Idle Work Factory regularly collaborates with other production companies, community organisations and businesses. In 2023, we worked with The Unit, Bradford Youth Services, Studio Canal, Zomdic Films & The BFI.
AWARDS
Idle Work Factory has received accolades for our work and practice. In 2023, our debut Feature Film Suicide Kelly was awarded Best Picture at the BAFTA & BIFA selected British Urban Film Festival. Suicide Kelly was also long-listed for a BIFA Breakthrough Performance for Freddy Smith's, leading performance as Cain Kelly.
Alongside, our creative work - our practice in inclusive approaches to production has also been well received, gaining us status as a Best Practice Case-study in the SIGN: Inclusive Recruitment Toolkit, alongside the BBC.
IWF INDIE FILM SCHOOL
In 2023, Idle Work Factory received recognition from SIGN for our approach to sustainable training in the Northern screen sector and we launched the Idle Work Factory Indie Film School - an inclusive initiative, which provides bespoke training & mentorship for 18 students, looking to break into the film and TV industry.
The programme continues to run - providing a network for writers, filmmakers, cast & crew from across the North.
